- Rhythm - Explore note values and music symbols through performance on a wide variety of percussion instruments
- American Music Styles - Spirituals, Gospel, Blues, Jazz
- Melody - Learn to read pitches of the treble clef and play/compose songs at your own keyboard station
7th Grade
- Rhythm - Explore rhythm values and sounds through a wide variety of percussion instruments
- Melody - Learn how to read pitches and music symbols of both the treble clef and bass clef, then play songs on the keyboard!
- Musical Theater - Discover what goes into the art form of musical theater by listening, watching, analyzing and discussing many genres of theater
- Guitar - Perform as a class to learn the basics of playing chords and reading TAB notation
8th Grade
- Rhythm - Discover how note values and music symbols make music using percussion instruments
- Melody - Build upon prior knowledge and perfom melodies on the keyboard
- Opera - Listen, analyze and describe the highest theatrical art form
- Music History - Learn about past music masterminds to better understand current music trends
- Blues Guitar - Improvise rhythmic patterns and melodies using the 12 bar blues
